As proof to this concept I would like to provide this as an example. This summer I was in the ICU of one of Boston's finest hospitals. My chest cavity was filled with a jell like substance caused by a major infection. The doctors have for the most part placed a toe tag on me. They called my family in North Carolina and told them if they wanted to see me alive they best get on a plane. My wife (who has no medical training) had other ideas. She told the doctors that is the medication that they were giving me could not break-up the infection why not operate and take it out. The idea was rejected by two surgical teams because of my condition and risk of complete shutdown (death) but my wife finally contacted a doctor that would operate. Her thought was this, if the doctors are telling me that he will die because of the infection what is the risk of operating and possibly saving his life. This is a life or death example of practical thinking but I am alive and kicking thanks entirely to her thought process and her ability to put those thoughts into action.
This is a the example that got me thinking about everything I do and the practical process that I go through from the applications that I download for my iPad to the things that I do around the house. I hope to share these thoughts with those that follow. If you have any comments or questions please feel free to get in touch with me.
